Responding to the PBP Opinion Poll about going to Mars:

Gee, how many Americans believe the "Intelligent Designer" created the earth 10,000 years ago? Ask that in your opinion poll. Werner von Braun is not even mentioned. Wasn't it "our Nazi's" technological achievement? The Russians rescued Americans stranded in space after the Challenger disaster. That is not mentioned either. All those who we subsidized to go to the moon came down and informed everyone that we're all on this beautiful blue planet together, and should learn to get along, right? Angeline Jolie has done more for World Peace. The Russians are trying to go to a Mars's moon? That's why we have to beat them to Mars? Why not let them continue to waste their money on their "glory days", while we grow up and take care of the "least of our brethren", as the founder of the religion we claim to belong to, admonished us.

Mr. Moffett doesn't mention "The Drug War" at all. If marijuana were regulated like cigarettes & alcohol, would Indiana farmers again be the biggest producers of marijuana? And could U.S taxpayers be raking in $77 Billion a year, rather than paying out $44 Billion? 74% of the marijuana used in the U.S is now being grown on our public lands, with "illegal" immigrants camping out on them to tend the crop. Wnen does the PBP report about people making an untaxed fortune bringing drugs, slaves, etc. into this country thru tunnels (See Showtime's Weeds, now in its 4th season, on DVD at your library). Tell us how that raises the "illegal" immigration numbers, and what does the CBO say it costs us?

Sent to our representative Tom Rooney today: I wrote a Letter to the Editor about your "NO" vote to the funding request from our generals in the 2 wars Pres. Bush started. Please spare me the Repubs' list of excuses. I've rec's automated phone calls from you twice, and am not impressed. Now, Tom Blackburn has written that Republicans had 3 years of total Majority in the Exec., Congressional, and Supreme Court. Roe vs. Wade could have been overturned, Soc. Security could have been put back in its lockbox, etc. Instead, Repubs caused the biggest fiscal swing in American history, from surplus to deficity, Robt. Altman said on Charlie Rose. It's time for Repubs to stop kicking Dems in the shin, and start helping. We are now stuck with you because of Mahoney's stupidity. So represent us, please. Single payer health care has long worked for our Swedish and Italian relatives, and for members of Congress. We want what they have, not what our 33-year rep Hastert forced upon us with lies at 3.am. And if you're looking to save money, no missile shield for Europe. Our Defense Dept failed on 9-11. That wasn't incoming from Iran; or Iraq. But $1 Trillion has gone up in smoke in Iraq, along with their Christian population, and McCain jokes about bombing Iran! Act like the Christian you claim to be, please!
