Being “pro-choice is making the decision to take the life of an innocent human being created by God”, writes Betsy Christensen. Not quite. It is allowing the person in power over that life to decide whether to destroy it, or nurture it for a lifetime.

Like George Bush was given the power to choose war, which also takes the lives of innocent human beings created by God. He could have chosen the compassionate route of ending the sanctions right after he was elected, and using trade to nurture life in Iraq. We’ve been “parenting” China that way since Nixon.

Instead, Bush chose to tear Iraq apart. His “Doctrine” claims he can make war on anyone who might possibly harm us. Isn’t that same rationalization used to justify abortion?

There’s been a traffic nightmare in DuPage County, IL for 20 years? Trains delay 1200 cars per hour at York and Irving Park Roads? Now the all-Republican Board is willing to spend a little money on it?

After using up $16 million to bulldoze a sod farm at the DuPage Airport? Will another $18 million be spent on office buildings to lure renters? Sure could use that money to improve safety and traffic flow.

And that $48 million or so the DuPage County Board spent to buy and outfit the huge quarry in Elmhurst. Didn’t Mr. Schillerstrom push for that too?

Just asking:

Summary of article by Andy Paszor and Johathan Karp for the Wall Street Journal, which appeared in the Daily Herald, December 2004

Darleen Druyun, 57, top AF acquisition official “steered billions of dollars worth of contracts to Boeing Co. out of gratitude for Boeing’s hiring of (daughter) Heather, Heather’s future husband, and eventually herself”.

“Previously she had admitted only to breaking conflict-of-interest rules in her job talks with Boeing-the crime for which she has been sentenced to 9 months in prison.”

How long is Martha in for?
