(My comment to LTE on TCPalm blog) Half of our Founding Fathers owned slaves. The rest went along with slavery because otherwise there would have been no union. Great Britain abolished slavery way before we did, without a war, and Canada has universal health care, and a parliamentary system. The Founding Fathers set up the Electoral College, based on the College of Cardinals that chooses a pope. They didn't trust the people. FL Senator Bill Nelson has started up efforts to improve the way we now elect presidents. I hope you will use your energy and talents to help that effort. I know from experience that you will be throwing your vote away if you vote for someone who has absolutely no chance of winning. If you do not vote for Barack, John McCain could win, and the terrible War he helped start in Iraq, which had nothing to do with 9-11, will continue. Please reconsider, sir.

@ TCPalm comment page, letters to editor: People have been doing terrible things to other people throughout the centuries. Judeo-Christians claim to believe in "Thou shalt not kill". We're supposed to be better than the "godless" or Muslims. So how did we come to be so invested in Arms dealing and military solutions? Iran was not a threat in 1953-Mossadegh admired us! We overthrew him, sneakily, and put a military Monarch in power, and kept him there, for 24 years. Babes killed in mothers' arms? How many times did that happen during our war on Vietnam? Israel attacked the unarmed USS Liberty in 1967, first by plane, then by air, killing 30+ Americans. John McCain's father did a one-week investigation. Bush has kept Reagan's papers from being released, and Cheney said Nixon's mistake was knowing too much about what his underlings were doing? Charlie Reese at least told the American people what was their money was being used for-now it's huge barrier walls, all over Baghdad, Israel, and on the border of the "land of the free and home of the brave".
